Editorial policy

What the publication covers

The catalogue is deliberately narrow. It covers interference in human memory — proactive, retroactive, and retrieval-induced — and the century-long argument about whether forgetting is a matter of traces fading or of traces competing. Subjects outside that scope are not published here, even where they would draw more traffic.

How subjects are chosen

A subject enters the catalogue when three conditions are met: there is a primary published source that can be named, there is a documented objection or limitation worth printing alongside it, and the material can be described without translating it into instructions. Findings that exist only in secondary coverage, or that appear in a single unreplicated report presented as settled, are not covered.

How sources are cited

Every article carries a reference list naming authors, year, and publication. Figures are schematic reconstructions of reported patterns and are labelled as such in the caption; none reproduces an original figure. Where axis values are illustrative rather than taken from the source, the caption states it. Where a study's sample was small, the sample size appears in the body of the article rather than in a footnote.

What the publication does not do

  • It does not provide therapy, counselling, medical or psychological advice.
  • It does not assess, diagnose, or treat any condition.
  • It does not offer consultations, coaching, or personalised guidance.
  • It does not publish testimonials, reviews, endorsements, case studies, or before-and-after accounts.
  • It does not claim that reading the catalogue produces any outcome.

How Interference advertises

Some readers arrive through paid advertising. Advertising for this publication is written to the same standard as the catalogue itself. Advertisements describe the subject matter of an article in the third person and presume nothing about the person viewing them — no advertisement asserts or implies knowledge of anyone's memory, health, circumstances, history, or state of mind, and none addresses a viewer as though they have a particular problem.

The destination page corresponds to the advertisement that leads to it. An advertisement referring to a specific article links to that article. No advertisement leads to a page that offers something other than what the advertisement described, and no intermediate page is served in place of the advertised destination.

Corrections

Errors of fact are corrected in place, and a dated correction note is added at the foot of the affected article describing what was changed. Corrections are not made silently. Requests to correct an error can be sent to support@interference.pro with the article title and the passage in question; a citation to the source that establishes the error speeds the process considerably.

Commercial disclosure

Interference is a commercial publisher. Revenue may come from paid advertising and from the sale of digital publications under the same brand. No article is written, altered, or placed at the request of a third party, and the publication accepts no sponsored placements, affiliate arrangements, or paid links. Where a purchase has been made through this brand, the terms are set out on the refund page and the terms page.

Responsible entity

Interference is a trading brand operating from Brazil. It maintains no public office and no telephone line; all correspondence is handled by email at support@interference.pro.
